LEJOG Day 11 – Rest Day in Sedbergh

Today was our rest day. We will stay a 2nd night at our accommodation in Sedbergh. 10 days cycling completed and over half way on our journey from Land’s End to John O’Groats.

It was a real treat to be able to chill for the day.

We visited Kendall, which I remember visiting before I was married, together with two of my half-sisters, Pam and Bets. It is a very lovely town and we enjoyed lunch in The Cottage Kitchen.

We did not do any more exercise than to clean our bikes and stroll around town! But I must take the opportunity to mention our intrepid supporter Claire.

Not only did Claire drive us down to Land’s End from Littlehampton in her amazing Peugeot Rifter (affectionately nicknamed ‘Wolf’), she drives from one accommodation to the next each day with our stuff, often loading and unloading the vehicle on her own.

She meets us at our café stops and invariably is in the road waiting to guide us in (with her GoPro)!

In addition to this she is also managing to fit in a swim, a cycle ride and a run each day, to make a mini triathlon each day.

As we continue tomorrow, we will be getting to more remote areas and then she will meet us mid-ride to provide refreshments.

So chapeau to Claire as she makes her own challenge and adventure and enables us to progress with ours! We simply could not do this without her.

Thank you Claire!
