LEJOG Day 9 – Culcheth to Clitheroe, Wednesday 18th September 2024

We left our accommodation in Culcheth with a chill in the air.

It was a little tricky navigating back onto our route for the day as we had been in a residential area with a lot of paths and trails around.

We passed the a lot of school children One asked if he could join us on his bike. I said “Sure, we’re going to Scotland”. He cycled a short distance with us!

Eventually we got underway back on the route crossing over the motorway.

One of the first towns that we went through was called ‘Abram’, which was my late Mother-in-law, Jackie’s maiden name.

Then on to Blackrod. We passed through busy urban towns.

This gradually opened up into more rural areas including some climbs.

We passed a reservoir.

Our first stop was in a Village Tea room in Wheelton and enjoyed lunch.

Continuing on the scenery opened up providing impressive views.

We reached our destination in Clitheroe where our accommodation is a first floor apartment in the town centre.

Later, Tom’s girlfriend Lily’s parents, Diane and Andy are going to visit us!
